In 1937 John Ritchie Senior started the company in the small South Island town of Temuka with a single coach. Today, Ritchies has grown to be New Zealand’s most trusted passenger transport service with over 800 buses, servicing more than 600 destinations New Zealand wide. Ritchies have made considerable investment in vehicle and driver safety systems. We have in-house registered LTNZ driving instructors and a Transqual ITO Qualified Assessor to ensure driver standards are of the highest level. Drivers undergo regular refresher courses in driver training, customer service and emergency procedures, and our well equipped workshops and skilled technicians ensure that all buses are impeccably maintained well beyond the industry standard.
