At Ritchies we keep this information safe, and manage it carefully. Our policy is that:

• Our employees are aware they can only access personal information of others including customers, where that access is required for their role or function.
• Any personal information collected, used or stored by us is protected from unauthorised access, disclosure or loss.
• Personal or private information is deleted, destroyed or identifying details removed when it is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was obtained.

 

Your privacy is important to us.

We respect your rights and our obligations regarding any private or personal information we gather or hold about you. This may include:

• Names, phone numbers, residential and email addresses.
• Date of birth, job title, place of employment or business
• Bank account or credit card details
• Any communication you have with us, including via phone or email
• Information obtained by or submitted to us by you, including via our websites, career portals, customer portals or social media sites
• Information collected by us in relation to your use of our website or subsites, including the content you upload and content you access
• Any camera footage collected by us on any of our sites or in any of our vehicles

If you choose not to provide information when we require depending on the nature of your relationship with the Company you may not be able to use our services.

Use of your information

Your personal information is generally used in various ways to help us manage and improve our services and business operations and to communicate with you. Information uses include the below and any other purpose which is authorised by you and/or the Privacy Act.

• Communication in relation to our services for travel you have booked
• Marketing of our services
• To comply with our health, safety and wellbeing practices and policies and/or to meet our health and safety obligations under law.
• The information may also be used to collect money that you owe us; to protect or enforce our legal rights and interests, including defending any claim
• We may send emails, promotional material, or surveys to you where we believe it may be relevant to you. We will remove you from any such distribution or mailing lists upon your request.

 

Disclosure of your information

Unless expressly authorised by you or under this Policy, we will not disclose your personal information to any third party except those purposes authorised under the Privacy Act which includes our related companies and affiliates.

We retain personal information only for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected or as required by law.

Customer service data is generally retained for no longer than 3 years, including records of service interactions and complaints. Financial records are retained for 7 years.

Our CCTV use

Closed circuit television cameras are in place on many of our buses and premises to help provide a safe and secure environment for employees, passengers and visitors to our depots and sites.

The cameras record vision and audio and are capable of capturing night and daytime imagery. Where audio is recorded it will generally be in the proximity of the bus driver.

Surveillance technology provides a number of benefits for passengers and employees:

• It allows the capture of information that could be used to investigate crime or health and safety matter
• It can assist investigation into employee or passenger incidents and/or misconduct.
• It contributes to improved deterrence of criminal activity
• We have safeguards to prevent unauthorised access to, or misuse of CCTV footage or any personal information.
