Zero-emission milestones
Our transition to cleaner transport is happening right across the country in Auckland, Tauranga, Christchurch, Timaru and Dunedin.
Our launch of Otago’s first zero emission bus fleet in 2024 marked a major step forward for the city and for New Zealand’s wider sustainability journey.
INNOVATION
How we innovate
Our new depots are built for the future with electric charging, smart-charging systems and sustainable design.
- We use LED lighting, water-recycling at bus washes, trade-waste systems, and staff recycling
- Planning routes or redesigning networks, we factor in greenhouse gas reductions
Battery life cycle: when a bus battery reaches the end of its first life, we work with partners to give it a second one, as backup power or community energy storage.
