All prospective employees attend an interview with a Ritchies manager at which we look for the following key attributes and competencies:
Good interpersonal skills, including ability to speak and understand English
Good personal presentation
History of reliability in employment
Experience in customer service
Clean driving history with min 2 years holding full class 1 NZ driver’s licence
Following the interview, we check prospective driver’s employment references and if these are acceptable they are offered a training contract for which you are paid throughout their training.

Driving a bus or coach is an exciting adventure! Our drivers get to meet new people every day and visit some of the most beautiful places in New Zealand. We operate our own dedicated driver training school with a team of NZQA qualified instructors. This allows us to take individuals, who we feel have the right potential for our business, through the licensing and training requirements necessary to become a Ritchies bus driver with a Passenger Endorsement.
And it doesn't stop there - training continues regularly throughout every Ritchies driver's career, even if they've been with us for many, many years.
