With more than 3,000 people across the country Ritchies teams support a wide range of community and national charities donating time and fund raising efforts.

One of the latest charities we have supported is Foster Hope, a volunteer-led group that provides clothing and other goods for children entering care. The Ritchies Support Office team traded their work shoes for slippers as part of our Slippers On, Hearts Open day, promoting Foster Hope’s annual Pyjama Drive.

Along with some fantastic and quite fluffy footwear, the team donated new winter pyjamas  to help bring warmth, comfort, and dignity to children and young people entering foster care.

The annual winter drive aims to collect new pyjamas for children in care.

Foster Hope asks for new items because for some of the children it may be the first time they have received new sleepwear of their own.  The charity has a goal of collecting 10,000 items each year. It was launched in 2010 providing backpacks of essential items for children who may arrive at a new placement with very few belongings, sometimes only the clothes they are wearing.

Today, volunteers around the country provide practical support including toiletries, clothing, books, soft toys and other personal items that help children feel cared for during a difficult and unsettling transition.
