I’m writing to express my appreciation of the good work you all do with the school bus service for Kaukapakapa children. In particular I want to commend the driver of my grandsons’ bus who is outstanding. Her name is Jackie, and she looks after the route from Kaukapakapa School up SH 16, including McLachlan Road. Jackie is the most positive and kind driver you could imagine (and speaking as an ex-teacher, veteran of countless school trips, I know driving a busload of noisy children must be so challenging!) Jackie is so careful about safety. She is always inventing fun ways to brighten the kids’ days. Our boys absolutely love her. Her smile and friendliness even extends to Grandma when I meet the bus. School bus driving is such important work. Perhaps you could pass on our family’s appreciation to your drivers and especially to Jackie. Kind regards. Heather Hyland
